Engagement: The OT makes contact with carers and health professionals where necessary for additional information.
Report Preparation: Based on the evaluation, the professional compiles a comprehensive report detailing the individual’s abilities, needs, and recommendations for support and funding.

How long does a Functional Capacity Assessment take?
Face-to-face time is which includes and initial assessment, evaluation and review consultation takes 2-3 hours and non face-to-face work which includes report write up will take from a few days to a week to complete.

Includes up to 150 minutes of face-to-face assessment, consultation, review, additional assessments and 12.5 hours non face-to-face time, including, but not limited to, writing a comprehensive report, interpreting standardised assessments, consultation with educators and other health professionals and recommendations.

Yes, you can use your NDIS plan to cover the cost of a Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA). The funding for this is available under the ‘Improved Daily Living’ category within your Capacity Building Supports Budget.
